Pointless blog #564.

I like robots. When I was 10 I saw a sweet little robot for $2,500 (HK currency, be warned) in a science museum shop that I had to buy. And buy I must. I returned a while later with said currency, and my dad was warning me. Apparently he doesn’t like robots. Or, he likes money too much. Either way, if Johnny 5 Junior had an electro-death ray, then I’d probably be basking in a lot of inheritance right now and building an army.

But wait . . . I am in Spain and theoretically learning Spanish, so what has me scrolling through the internet trying to find a robot? Two words: boredom, and wikipedia. But wikipedia is in Spanish, so check this out: I’m living up to my geeky nature AND learning a foreign language . . . how fucking sweet is that? Why don’t they teach these things in class?

Alas, Number 5 jr. was no longer for sale, and I was sad. I was as sad as a boy without a robot. And I fear that my geeky side has spread to my brother. I remember watching a movie as a kid about two inventive kids who build a robot that becomes possessed by the spirit of their dead dad. I remember being inventive too. I once rearranged the furniture and hid a chocolate milkshake behind the bookshelf and left it there for a couple of days. My parents thought that something had died. Maybe a little bit of me died that day when I had all that money and nothing to spend it on. Sniff.

So this makes it blog number 3 on blogspot. To sum up: nerd, traveller, learner of languages, likes to talk about himself. If I had any readership prior to this, I might have lost some intrepid browsers. But that hardly matters, as I only had 3 or 4 people really reading my stuff on myspace, and it wasn’t so much for the readers, but for an opportunity to vent.
