Oscar

While admittedly I do bitch about my Spanish ineptness, it is actually improving. My real frustration is this: I have all the knowledge necessary in my mind, all the grammar, all the vocab, all of the little intricacies, and yet I can't put it all together. Just because I get the right phrase out today doesn't mean that I'll be able to do it tomorrow - that's what's most frustrating, knowing that I *can* do it and that for some reason I'm unable to in any particular moment. But I'm not complaining today, because I saw El Lector (the Reader) in Spanish at the movies, at what must be the most comfortable cinema I've ever been in. The seats were huge and the arm rests likewise huge, plenty of space in front, and the seats were low enough in front so that if Kobe Bryant sat his ass down in front of me I wouldn't have a missed a thing on the screen. I understood enough of it to be happy, but lost some of the finer points of dialogue.

I also came back to find 2 unusual things: my roommate has now moved out (weird, since he told us just yesterday), and that there was an 80's themed party at my house. Met lots of Spanish people who said that I was good at Spanish. They also allayed my fears with Angel, because I barely understand what that guy says. And since he's my roommate, that's quite funny. At least for me. I bet Andrea will have a problem as well.

I´ll let you know in 9 days! But I´m struggling with understanding the Chilean speech, and I´m from the country next door - wonder how I´ll go in Europe!
