Creativity should be kept to the computer

I got creative in the kitchen today. That rarely turns out well, mostly because I over-complicate things. I’ll run through today’s haphazard attempt and let you decide how it went.

Ahem: thin strips of bacon in a frying pan with salt, pepper and garlic. Add some mustard, butter, 2 shots of black vodka, lemon yogurt and finally enough tomato sauce to make the thing red. There is also pasta on the side, add altogether, top with cheese.

Surprisingly it didn’t make me hurl. But the next time I’ll drop the mustard and butter, because the first is strong and doesn’t mix well, and the second does sometimes make me feel a bit iffy. I’ll also not use black vodka but regular, and maybe not 2 shots of it, though by the time it was cooked through there was barely any in it and you can’t taste it. The lemon yogurt I like, but not sure if it complements the tomato sauce, which I must confess I don’t like a lot of, and put in too much to make it red. I don’t know why I don’t like tomato sauce, but with pasta there aren’t many alternatives. I wonder, though, what would happen if I were to leave the tomato sauce out. Hmmm, something to consider.
