I won a bet!

Last day in Krakow, last day in Poland, last day with Andrea. The girl left this morning on an 8am train to the airport, something which I have to do later today. I returned to the hostel to have breakfast and was unsurprised to find that I was the only one there. Everyone else were nursing hangovers. I checked out, bummed around a bit, and headed back to the hostel to bum for a bit at 1.20. By 1.30 I was busy chatting to two Aussies and a Brit who were about to head over to a local bar to watch the Formula 1. Score! I tagged along. The bar itself was serviced by girls in skimpy orange shorts, much like Hooters, except that these girls were actually pleasant and very chatty, especially since most of the clientele were English speakers.

The company was good, and the Brit left half way through the race to buy some cigarettes and never returned (and owing the bar the cost of 1 beer). The two Aussies have been living in Krakow for almost a year and since one of them runs the pub crawl, he knows all the best places to go. Towards the end one of his friends came along, a guy from Scotland, and was convinced that Mark Webber was English (Webber came in 2nd in the race). I bet him 5 zloty that he was Australian. So there's Mark Webber, standing on the podium, with an Australian flag behind him. Awesome! I can now afford to eat something!

I return with the guys to the hostel and we seperate, and I go to Carrefour and carefully buy some food and snacks for the day, since I have precious little money left. The 5 zloty really helped, and earned me a coke.

Side note: there's a Chinese woman here who's walked in off the street asking for a bed, and all she can say is "cheaper room", and "I don't understand". There are no free beds today, and doesn't understand that the girl has found her a bed in a different hostel, and doesn't understand why she's looking at a map. Oh, now she knows how to say "expensive hotel? No!"

When we checked into the hostel we were given free-shot vouchers at the bar downstairs, so guess who got himself a free vodka! Guess!

The weather has cleared up a little, but it looks like Singapore in a few days will be terrible. Bah.

I found my free voucher coupon thing when I was doing the laundry in Paris :)
Not an interesting story, but just add the city Paris to any sentence and all of a sudden you whiff off an air of sophistication. Try it! (I got an inner ear infection in Paris, for example)!
PS - My word verification word is fights. I had a fight with the street vendors in Paris. (See, it works!)
