The Decider vs The Crier.

I'm going to have to do something remarkably difficult here. I have two options, both concerning my literature and cinema in Italy class. I can do the exam based on no notes and complete ramblings by the lecturer, or do something that I'm pretty good at - writing a script. The problem is now that I need to write a script based on an Italian book that is not already a movie. But I have to write this in Spanish. I have about 10 days to find the book, read it, understand it, and cleverly write up a script based on it, have it proof read by a Spaniard and checked with an Italian with all the cultural references, and then print the fucker up and hand it in. Oh, and I have no guidelines at all at what should be submitted (page count, word count, etc). That's probably going to equate to 40 hours of pain-in-the-ass work or 10 hours of studying and doing the exam.

So tomorrow will be the decider. I have an author in mind, and I'll check out some bookstores and see if I can pick anything up, or go to the library on campus (almost impossible to find anything there, since there are 30 libraries and they need to order the book in from storage or from another library, and then they tell you that you can come back the next day to pick it up). If I can't find anything I'll resign myself to studying for this stupid exam.

But as it goes, I can only get through about 12 pages of Sherlock Holmes in Spanish before I get overwhelmed. I write down every word that I don't know, so that obviously slows me down, but if this book ends up being 200 pages or more then I'm probably going to cry. Good luck to me!
