Beard fa-say

The other night was a continuation of a backpacking adventure that was a lot of fun. A few months ago I was in Oslo and ran into an Australian in our hostel, who was staying in my room, and he joined us on our tour of the city and helped show us around a little. I told him that if he came to Madrid I’d come out and say hello. So he did. And I did.

Having seen first hand the difference in heat between Valentina’s place and mine, it made me jealous. Our house is an ice-block compared to hers, and it’s all down to the windows. I was there for an English and Italian language exchange and dragged her along later to meet the Aussie, who also brought along another Aussie (a girl from Melbourne) that he had met in his hostel just that day. We went and had tapas and sangria, and it turns out that this girl and I are neighbours in Ireland (or more specifically, our grandparents are neighbours), which was cool. And she goes to Fitness First in the city in Melbourne, so there’s also a chance that she’s bumped into Andrea once or twice.

Later that night Miriam and Kati joined us, but Valentina and Caroline had to boogie on home, so it was more tapas and sangria, with deep and meaningful conversations about having sex with Johnny Depp and the nutritional value of kangaroos. We then moseyed on down for churros and chocolate, said a hearty farewell as the three of them could walk back to their domiciles whereas I had to walk for twenty minutes, wait for a night bus, resist falling asleep and suffer with a forty minute ride. I got home and into bed at 6.30am, blowing out all my good sleeping habits from the past week and going nuts again. But it was fun. Lots of laughter, lots of comments on my new unshaven look, and I have just finished my Freaks and Geeks marathon and have decided upon two things: Linda Cardellini is really cute, and she and Ellen Page look alike.
